An ‘eye tea’ is a charity event to raise money to purchase equipment for children who are blind or vision impaired. Hosts from around Australia invite friends to their house and enjoy a special morning/afternoon tea with their friends, while raising money for this worthwhile cause.
A big thank you to all our hosts who recently held an ‘eye tea’ for their friends. This was a great success, raising over $30 000 for the Royal Children’s Hospital. One of our hosts made over $10 000! Please ensure you have received your tax-deductible receipt from your host. Thank you also to those who attended our second successful year of ‘eye tea’. You have made a difference to many little boys and girls with vision impairment.
Stay tuned for details of our next ‘eye tea’ in August 2015.
News just in: Prof Glen Gole has purchased a glaucoma pressure checker (I like the sound of that) which enables children to have their glaucoma pressure to be checked in the clinic, rather than under anaesthetic. What great news!
