Entitlements:  People who are vision impaired are entitled to government benefits/ accessibility options. It is important to advise them/ their caregivers of these entitlements.

 

Vision Impaired Travel Pass:

Taxi Subsidy Scheme:

Companion Card:  

companion cardThe National companion card scheme enables a carer to attend free of charge at a number of events and venues in any State or Territory.

 

 

Better Start for children with disability initiative:   Better Start offers up to $12 000 for equipment and therapy to assist children with vision impairment.

 

Commonwealth funded allowances: Disability allowance/carer’s allowance are available to assist people with vision impairment and carers of children with vision impairment.
