About Us

‘Eye tea’ is a charity dedicated to helping people with vision impairments. Our charity started as a fundraiser to raise money for equipment for children with vision impairments. We welcome you now to our brand new venture – the ‘eye tea’ website.  We are currently in the process of creating a one stop website that links to all the great sources of access technology to assist Australian professionals working in the field of vision impairment.  Never before have there been so many technology options for people with no or low vision. We invite you to continually check our website as we add new technology as it is released.

Of course, vision impairment is very heterogeneous by nature (Blatch, Nagal & Cruickshank, 1998). Each person with vision impairment will have individual needs, depending on their vision and presence of other disabilities. While we endeavour to provide as much information as possible on this website, this information does not replace professional advice. It is extremely important to have a functional vision assessment and a technology assessment to ensure people with vision impairments are able to access information to participate as independently as possible in their home, school or work and community.

On this site you will find:Our two ambassadors, Ollie and Zac, making music.
